LUMINOUS GALLERIES

The Luminous Galleries emerged from a vibrant festival where children and community constructed light based sculptures and installations in the parks of five towns along the eastern shore of Westernport Bay.  With the success of this activation the community wanted to find ways to permanently activate their unfrequented places with participative art. Clusters of inground lights were installed in four of the parks and a grant program enabled a 5 month program of community made artworks - all quietly illuminated through the night.

Luminous Galleries were part of a 2 year project, THE EDGE OF US conceived to build stronger community connection between the towns.
